Homer, Alaska is the Halibut Capital of the World. Bob’s Trophy Charter’s captains have worked hard to become some of the best! Each of our captains and their crews are friendly and nice. It’s easy to spend your time with them fishing, and of course catching out in the waters of our beautiful Kachemak Bay and Cook Inlet and across the Gulf of Alaska.
We catch all sizes of fish, especially halibut! We offer charters for many other species of fish including salmon, as well as ling cod and rock fish. We have charters for the experienced angler as well as beginners and those in between of all ages. Charters come in full and 3/4 day options. Try going out for the day on one of our our halibut and salmon combinations, or our halibut/ling cod and rockfish combinations on our 6 pack boats.
If our boats are full on the day you want to go fishing we will make every effort to find you a fishing trip with another reputable charter. We only work with charter companies who can deliver the level of service and success that we offer.

Salmon
Alaska is world renowned for our salmon! Take the opportunity to go out and catch a wild King Salmon or a Silver Salmon. Kings are around year-round whereas Silver Salmon usually run in Late July-Early September.
We regularly catch salmon that weigh between 8 to 15 lbs. Larger King Salmon are caught on occasion.
Rockfish
Some folks know Rockfish as “sea bass”. Rockfish are a very tasty fish and there are numerous different species of Rockfish in the area, including Yelloweye and Blackies.
We regularly catch rockfish that weigh between 5 to 10 lbs. On occasion we catch Yelloweye Rockfish which generally weigh between 10 to 20 lbs.
Lingcod
Lingcod are a delicacy to the locals in Homer. Some consider them ugly, other’s consider them exotic. These fish are round and long and must be 35 inches to keep. Season opens July 1st.
A legal lingcod that is over 35 inches, generally weighs around 20-30lbs. On occasion we are able to catch larger Lingcod.
